Wild Card: Something Then, Something Now

2014

Wild Card returns to Sadler's Wells with more specially curated evenings from a new generation of dance makers, bringing fresh perspectives to the stage. For each Wild Card, an up-and-coming artist is given the opportunity to present work that excites them alongside their own.

Seeta curates an intimate evening of dance and music from South India, featuring an orchestra of Carnatic musicians. After solo work by her, she offers a rare opportunity to see seasoned dancer and musician Pushkala Gopal in an up-close presentation of song and abhinaya (the expressional aspect of Bharatanantyam). This evening is a chance to witness the inherent evolution of this most expressive dance form and see it grow into the future.
